Thank You Kind Lady in the Little Shiny Blue Car - Random Act of Kindness

So there I am at north Wal-Mart, pulling into crowded gasoline area & kicking myself for not stopping at the Mom & Pop's up the road.

I enter the lot behind a white SUV. He takes a place in line 2 pumps away, I pull in behind the little shiny blue car. It appeared the driver was about to leave. 2 minutes go by, finally the driver exits her vehicle and goes to the window to pay. Noooo, she's not even started.

Meanwhile, the white SUV gets to pull up and begin pumping. Nice black silk slacks. Driver ahead of me returns, and begins to pump her gas. I'm screaming in my head & giving ugly looks to her back. The wind gets up, she struggles with her coat & hoodie, and I felt a big wave of sympathy/empathy/whatever... I felt for the girl, the wind was cold!

So, I take a deep breath, and start just looking around the lot, being patient, trying to find my happy self. A few minutes pass, and it seems she's trying to catch my eye (maybe?) then she goes back to the window. Noooooo!!!! I've been here for 10 minutes now, the guy in the white SUV filled up & left 2 cars ago, for pete's sake!!

I didn't even see her return, but looked around & her car was pulling away... woohoo!! I pull up, jump out, insert card in pump, screen reads 'cannot process card now' WTH? Cancel, try again, same message. *sigh* I go to the window to pay, thinking 'maybe this is what held ole girl up, I should never have felt irritated with her, for shame'

What happened next made me feel even smaller. The lady at the window says 'She left you 3.77 credit.' 'Huh?' says I. 'That lady in front of you- do you know her?' 'No' 'Well, she came back over here and said to give her change in gas to the lady behind her, that's why it won't take your card. Go pump it and come back'

O .... K

So, I pumped the 3.77, and think 'well, it'll probably take my card now, I don't have to go back to the window', but I hoped to learn a little more about my benefactor. The station attendant says 'so you didn't know her?' I said 'No ma'am, sure don't' & she says 'well, that's a blessing right there, thank Jesus for her' I agreed, thanked her warmly, and spent the rest of my day in a warm 'n' fuzzy little place and was especially nice to everyone I saw. :-)

A big THANK YOU to the lady in the little shiny blue car. You touched someone today & the story of your random act of kindness will be remembered and shared. xoxo

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR to you!

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Holiday season.

This was our first Christmas without Mother and it has been very trying for us, to say the least. We held Christmas at our home for the first time ever, as Dad was content to do nothing :-(

One of our guests broke her ankle the week before Christmas, so she and her niece were unable to join us. Other than that, everything went very well and the food was yummy! (That's not just the cook bragging, lol, my guest said so, too!)

My sister and her family will arrive from KY today- yeah! Haven't seen them since June, so really looking forward to it :-)

Off to work for a bit--- Happy Day!

Sobbing in Death Valley tonight- Bama beats LSU !

Final score: Alabam 27, LSU 21 in overtime.

Bama is now 10-0 !

Woo hoooo, way to go, guys!!

Funniest thing on local TV just now:
They were showing a clip of a Saban effigy being burned. The news guy commented on how LSU hates Saban 'cause he once left them for the NFL (duh, who wouldn't!) and how tasteless the effigy burning was. Then says "But, ya know, if you've ever been to Baton Rogue, alcohol fuels the fires and the people, so this isn't so unexpected for down there." LOL!!

Congrats to Obama; Wake-up Call to USA

Congrats to Senator Obama for his win last night.

All you starry-eyed worshippers waiting for your handout, sure you're in for a surprise before long. It's your job to take care of yourself & your family, it is not the government's place to play Mommy & Daddy.

Black America-- Pay attention. The pity party ends now. Gone are the decades of bemoaning ancient slavery issues & 'whitey' keeping you down. Behold a man willing to WORK for his vision, a man raised by a single parent who started life very poor. In this country, everybody can be somebody IF THEY TRY.

Happy Wednesday

Vote McCain on Tuesday, November 4

Go with the guy who has the most experience, not the one who makes the most (unfulfillable) tax cut promises and whose running mate has been trying to get into our number 1 office since 1984.

He's old, you say? Experience is our best teacher. And what of Reagan who was 73 when he won the 1984 election? In the words of a great man, when the age topic was broached during the second Presidential debate, Reagan responded "I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience," which gained a burst of applause and laughter from the audience members and even Mondale himself couldn't suppress a giggle.

McCain. It's the only reasonable choice :-)

Space Station Trash Plunging to Earth

Did you see this?!

http://news.aol.com/article/space-station-trash-plunging-to-earth/234755?icid=100214839x1211845551x1200752764

I'd sure hate to get hit with a piece of that :-(

Hopefully they can determine its course & do something to divert falling pieces that may be harmful to humans.

But even if they head into the oceans as NASA is hoping, it's toxic waste, right? Won't that kill or harm any living species that come into contact with the debris?
